Andy Belanger: Building A Foundation For Success


1. Talk a little bit about your clinical practice/business.

For the past 30 years, I have been coaching health professional balance the business of health with their passion for health with their clients. Heros Business Solutions is not only the company name but also the goal. Help Everyone Realize Opportunities Business Solutions. There are 4 pillars that represent the foundation of any venture in any health field. Administration-finances, Operations-systems, Marketing-connections and Leadership-strategies. What stands HERO’s apart is the focus on the most critical components that every entrepreneurial health provider must establish in becoming successful. 


2. What's your favourite book?

Michael E. Geber, the E myth. 

The E‑Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber is one of the five top-selling business books of all time, has been translated into 27 languages and is required reading in countless MBA programs. The proven principles in the book were drawn from our work with clients in our small business coaching program. The book shows you what to do, and the EMyth Coaching Program shows you how.


3. What's the book you've gifted most frequently?

Napolean Hill.  Think and grow rich.  It’s the foundation.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill examines the psychological power of thought and the brain in the process of furthering your career for both monetary and personal satisfaction. Originally published in 1937, this is one of the all-time self-help classics and a must read for investors and entrepreneurial types.


4. What's your favourite blog, podcast or online resource?  

I don’t follow one, and plan on creating one with Embodia. "HERO”s video tips."  and in time the Embodia 40 issues experts series, where based on the HERO’s 40 issues, experts provide 1-3 minute advice and guidance in creating the greatest resource library for health providers ever. Practical tips.


5. What advice would you give to your 25 year-old self?


Three Tips:

    1. The greatest skill to develop is the word help. When you say it, great things happen-solutions.
    2. Principle of the ladder. You don’t have to make the mistakes other have made, learn from mentors and start from where they are at.
    3. Success isn’t alone. Include a team, success comes with a cast of thousands, create a core team of experts that can provide coaching in the 4 pillars.


6. What's something you've recently learned that you're really excited to implement?

The creation of the HERO’s strategic marketing plan. Understand marketing want, map out the deliverables fit the want using the 5 areas, list the tools require, put together a proactive strategy and monitor actively. Few if any are doing this.


7.  Why did you decide to join the Embodia Instructor community?

Because they are the first to seriously address the business of health in a way that stands them apart from all others. Embodia believes as we do in HERO’s (helping everyone realize opportunities). They want to make a difference, they are true HERO’s.  


8. What is one 'aha' moment that you’ve had that changed you forever?

When I discovered that the single greatest weakness missing is the “kindergarten” business class for health entrepreneurs (all entrepreneurs). Found there are experts everywhere but without a foundation the experts information doesn’t seem to fit. What did you learn from this? We must first provide a foundation to build success, and in health success is about helping lots of people. The true success formula is a balance between humanity, outcome based medicine and logistics. Need them all.


9. You are a coach and business advisor who specializes in helping businesses "start smart" and "run right." Where did you learn to do this? 

I got my linear training from school, I got my lateral training from my father, I got my intuitive training from mentors, colleagues and friends, and it came from paying attention and listening to what was shared.


10. What is one thing that has led to your success? 

Passion and structure. My father passed away at the age of 52, the night before he passed away he stated to his best friend ‘you were right, I worked on my mind and not my body”. the world lost a visionary well before his time, and from that moment on I dedicated myself to help those who help others with their health.
