New Feature Release: Embodia for Home Exercise Programs

Introduction

The ability to effectively treat our patients using technology has become a new key to success! Getting comfortable with these technologies is not always easy, but with a little practice they can become a regular part of your practice. Digital Home Exercise Programs (HEP) on Embodia is a great tool to use with your patients, and we are continuously updating it and adding features to make it easier and faster for you to use.

In this blog, we will highlight some of the new features for Home Exercise Programs on Embodia.

New Feature #1

When looking for exercises, you can search under the options ‘By body part’, ‘By Motion’, ‘By Position’, and ‘By Type’.

And now, when creating your own exercise, you can Tag them so they are searchable!

This makes your own exercises easier to find.

New Feature #2

Embodia learns as you prescribe to make it easier and faster for you to find what you're looking for. The more you prescribe an exercise, the higher up in your list it will show. In the example below, the most prescribed exercise in my account is Double Leg Bridges.

One of the most used features on Embodia is the ability to upload your own exercises, which can be video, text, images, links, or downloads. When you look under 'My Exercises' in the Exercise library, you now have the option to sort your exercises (the exercises you have uploaded) alphabetically.

New Feature #3

When your patients are using the Embodia App (available on Apple and Android), they receive reminders of when to do their exercises! This helps with adherence to the program and improves outcomes.

Patients are able to change the time they receive push notifications/reminders to do their exercises and, now, so can practitioners.

Physiotherapists and healthcare practitioners can change the reminder settings by following these steps:

  1. Prescribe an exercise program
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the prescribed exercise program
  3. Click ‘More’
  4. Choose ‘Manage reminder settings’.

You can then choose what time you want your patient to receive the reminders.

New Feature #4

We have added the ability to save drafts of exercise programs before you prescribe them. Now you can come back to your work whenever time allows!

When you add exercises, click ‘Create program’, and you will then have the option to ‘Save as work in progress’.

When you are ready to work on it again, go back to ‘Create Program’, and you will see a list of programs that are a work in progress.

If you can’t find an exercise you would like to prescribe, this gives you an opportunity to step back and create your own, without losing your work!
