More Ways to Grow, Without Adding to your Plate
More clinics are turning to group consults and classes, not just for the outcomes shared sessions can bring, but as a way to diversify revenue beyond the one-on-one model. This month, we made it easier to run them: patients can now book directly into a group consult through online booking, and charting for the whole group takes a fraction of the time it used to.
We also gave you more control over what patient data flows into Mailchimp, a handful of smaller fixes to charting, scheduling, and invoicing, new content in the exercise library, and a fresh patient education collection on bowel and gut health.
New this month:
- More control over what patient info syncs to Mailchimp
- Feature improvements: charting, scheduling, and invoicing
- New in the exercise library (placeholder β details to come)
- New in the patient education library: bowel & gut health
More Control Over What Syncs to Mailchimp
Send Mailchimp exactly the data your campaigns need β no more, no less.
By default, Embodia only shares a patient's first name, last name, and email address with Mailchimp. Now, after connecting your Mailchimp account, you can choose to also sync:
- Appointment count: the number of non-cancelled appointments for the patient
- Last appointment date: the date of the patient's last non-cancelled appointment
- Discharge status: pulled from the clinical case feature, this can show as empty (no clinical cases), "Yes" (discharged from all clinical cases), or "No" (not yet discharged from one or more clinical cases)
- Any of your patient properties
A couple of ways clinics are already putting this to use:
- Re-engagement campaigns: automatically reach out to patients who haven't rebooked after a set window, 2 weeks, a month, whatever fits your clinic, without having to track it manually or remember to follow up yourself.
- Birthday emails: if your clinic has a Birthday-type patient property, sync it to Mailchimp and use their birthday automation to send automated birthday emails.

Other Quick Updates on Embodia
Below you can find feature improvements we made this month. All available for Tier 3 members.
Enabling group consults in online booking
Tier 3 memberships can now let patients book a spot in a group consult directly through online booking.

Duplicating a chart for group consults/classes
For group consults and classes, if the majority of the information entered in the chart entry is applicable to multiple participants, you can use the duplication feature to duplicate the chart entry from one participant to another participant by clicking on the "duplicate" icon on the group consult/class page.

A faster way to duplicate chart entries
You can now duplicate a chart entry directly from the page that lists all of a patient's chart entries, instead of building a new one from scratch each time.

Dragging one-off calendar breaks
One-off breaks in your calendar can now be dragged to change their timing, rather than needing to be deleted and re-added.
More control over patient properties on invoices
You can now choose whether a given patient property shown on a patient invoice is visible to the practitioner only, or to both the practitioner and the patient.

New default setting for invoice dates
A new setting in your billing settings lets you change the default behaviour of the invoice date.
By default, the invoice date is set to the date the invoice was generated, even if the consult is on a different date. If you wish to set the invoice date to the date of consult, visit your general billing settings. You can also always change the invoice date on the invoice.

New in Patient Education: Bowel & Gut Health
We've added 19 new patient education handouts covering bloating, IBS, constipation, the gut-brain connection, and pelvic-floor-related bowel symptoms, created by Carolyn Vandyken and Renee Quiring.
New additions include: guidance on the Bristol Stool Chart, laxative types, an elimination challenge protocol for gluten sensitivity, breathing techniques for abdomino-phrenic dyssynergia, and self-treatment protocols for anal fissures and pelvic floor tension.
Useful whether you're managing straightforward constipation or a more complex IBS presentation.
