Train the Trainer Part 3: Recording 101

There are a number of reasons that you might want to capture your computer screen when building your course. Perhaps you would like to record your audio alongside your slideshow or demonstrate something on your computer to the audience. If you send us a recording of your slides and audio, you won’t need to state your slide number, which helps some people maintain a natural pace. We go over a few of the options for recording your screen in the Screen Capture section of this course, starting with this help article.

When recording in this format it is usually easy to use your webcam to record your face for any moments that might not need slides. How you go about doing this will depend on what software you are using to record.

If you are planning on recording a webinar with us, it is recommended that you record your own screen during the webinar, so that you aren’t interrupted by any hiccups in the internet connection.

If you make a mistake, please go back a couple of sentences, or to the top of the slide, and go back over what you said. You do not need to start a new recording anytime you make a mistake.
