Overview

Created as a supplement to the Essential Reformer or Foundational Reformer certification courses, this mini-course covers how to use Reformer Pilates to address common pregnancy goals including pelvic floor release, hip ROM, lumbo-pelvic ROM, adductor strengthening, glute strengthening, and shoulder girdle strengthening.

While some exercises may appear familiar, they have been thoughtfully curated and modified for pregnant clients. The overarching goal of this mini-course is to support pregnancy, childbirth, and a smoother post natal recovery.

This Online Course Includes:

  • 25+ hand-selected exercises and variations with printable PDF handout for quick reference.
  • All videos feature demonstrations with a pregnant client.
  • Includes a mini Mat Pilates warm-up in side lying with PDF handout (free to share with clients).
  • Two bonus kinesiotaping videos for belly support and upper trap downregulation.

Audience

For rehab professionals who work with pregnant clients within the general population.  Learners must have completed either the Essential Reformer course or the Foundational Reformer Certification course.

The instructors
Ellen Leung
PT
Ellen completed her BSc (yes, I’m that old) in Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia in 2005. She soon discovered her love of teaching and later went on to complete a MSc in Community Health in 2013 with a focus in Health Practitioner Education at the University of Toronto. The majority of her career has been focused in rehab with her current area of interest being postpartum pelvic health in the context of orthopedics. Aside from being a licensed physio in Ontario, Ellen is also a certified Pilates Instructor in Mat, Reformer, and Chair. Pilates has become an integral to her treatment approach and she enjoys running workshops whenever possible.
