Train the Trainer Part 4: Sell Your Course - Embodia's role in marketing your course(s)
New Course Launches
We support you in creating your course, and will continue to support you as you market it by letting our ever-growing community of course attendees and practitioners know about it!
But what exactly does the Embodia team do when you launch a new course?
Below are all the details for the pre-launch and post-launch phases for your course.
Pre-Launch
SEO optimization
Your course page will be SEO optimized. This includes editing the course information page, ensuring the thumbnail image is titled correctly, formatting the content to optimize for search engines, and adding SEO keywords and meta description on the backend. You can learn more about SEO and everything we just listed in this guide.
Coming Soon section
Embodia Academy is designed to make it easy for your potential course attendees to discover new and upcoming courses in the ‘Coming Soon’ section. Your course will appear in the 'Coming Soon' section once all the required information for the course page, such as the price and description of the course, has been provided. If you are uploading your course to Embodia yourself, you are responsible for both providing us with an estimate of the timeline you expect it will take to complete, and notifying us of its completion.
Post-launch
Once the course is released it goes in a couple additional places on our website.
Changelog
We list your course as a new course in our Changelog. This is where the Embodia community can find an up-to-date list of everything that’s new on Embodia, including courses, webinars, features, feature improvements, and blog posts.
Featured courses
We will also highlight your course in the 'Featured courses' list for 1 week, at the top of the Embodia Academy page, for maximum views:
Emails
-
-
Newsletter and Blog Emails: Your course will be included in our monthly newsletter (sent to all subscribers) and our blog email (sent to blog subscribers only).
-
Dedicated emails: We sometimes send dedicated emails about one course or webinar if it's targeting a segmented audience with a specific area of interest (e.g. orthopaedics, pelvic health).
-
Monday emails: Every Monday an email goes out to those who are actively taking courses on Embodia to summarize their course progress. At the bottom of this email, new courses are featured. Your course will be featured in this email 1-2x.
-
Social Media
-
-
Embodia's primary social media channels are Instagram and Facebook. We also use LinkedIn and YouTube. We suggest that you follow our accounts so that it's easier for us to tag you in posts that relate to your content. This can also increase the exposure of your own accounts!
-
We upload a post on our social channels, as well as Instagram and Facebook stories, to inform our community about your new course and what it's all about.
-
We may also promote your course on social media if there are any topical days/awareness months surrounding your course and/or any exercises you have in your course (e.g., yoga therapy courses in September for National Yoga Awareness Month).
-
Blog
-
-
Embodia-written: Embodia's blog articles are written in-house and focus on trending concepts, industry news, and new content. We also try to shed equal light on different areas in the allied healthcare industry. When our wordsmiths pen down their thoughts they often link to courses that are relevant to the topic, which is where your course may be highlighted.
-
Guest blog: You can also guest blog for us! We encourage all of our instructors to write a blog article related to the topic of their new course. Providing this value is another free way to promote your paid course! Readers might get curious after reading the content included and want to buy the course. Plus, the more relevant pages/websites linking to your course page, the higher the chance of it ranking on search engines!
-
Campaigns
Periodically, we will offer instructors the opportunity to sign up to a course campaign, such as course sales. These campaigns will be promoted to the Embodia community. Learn about adding your course(s) to campaigns in this guide.
Webinars
Last but certainly not least are webinars. This is one of the most effective techniques we have found when launching a new course.
Here's how it works:
-
-
We host monthly webinars with a variety of instructors.
-
Embodia invites its community to the webinar and the instructor invites their community.
-
Logistics and platform are managed by Embodia.
-
Webinars can certainly be paid but offering free, valuable webinar presentations can really help to drive interest for your course. You can learn more about hosting a free, live webinar in this guide.

Tip: If your course is being featured in an Embodia newsletter, webinar, or blog post, let your audience know! Post about it on social media, send an email, or even update your LinkedIn. The more places people see it, the better.
